{"id":61159,"date":"2023-10-31T15:46:41","date_gmt":"2023-10-31T22:46:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sanandreasregional.org\/?page_id=61159"},"modified":"2026-06-12T23:30:19","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T23:30:19","slug":"health-safety-waiver-information","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sanandreasregional.org\/zh\/service-providers\/health-safety-waiver-information\/","title":{"rendered":"Health &#038; Safety Waiver Information"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Health and Safety Waiver Exemption Request Process<\/h2>\n<p>Welfare &amp; Institutions Code sections 4681.6, 4648.4(b), 4681.5, 4684.55, 4689.8, 4691.6 and 4691.9 authorize the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to approve exemptions to rate freezes for the purpose of mitigating risks to an individual&#8217;s health and safety. The Budget Act of 2021 allocated funding to facilitate the application for Health and Safety Waivers for non-English speaking or deaf and hard of hearing individuals who may have unaddressed needs.<\/p>\n<p>For details: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dds.ca.gov\/rc\/health-safety-waiver-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health and Safety Waiver Overview (DDS)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The following documents must be submitted to SARC when requesting a Health &amp; Safety Waiver:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A formal written request. Please review the Fact Sheet (English, Spanish, Vietnamese) for further details.<\/li>\n<li>A completed Health and Safety Worksheet: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dds.ca.gov\/rc\/health-safety-waiver-process\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Health and Safety Worksheet (DDS)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>More Information<\/h3>\n<p>Vendors may contact Jeff Quendangan, Health &amp;
